By the decision of the general meeting of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine businessman, philanthropist and collector Andriy Adamovskiy was elected an honorary academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine (Department of Synthesis of Plastic Arts).

The decision to elect Andrii Adamovskyi as an honorary academician of NAMU was made on the basis of the Academy’s statute, the institution’s website reports.

Honorary Academicians of NAMU are citizens of Ukraine or foreigners who have made a significant contribution to the development of the science of art and culture, as well as leaders and employees of scientific and creative institutions, organizations and institutions that have achieved high results in the field of art and science of art and culture and whose success is recognized by the public.

Candidates for honorary academicians are nominated by the general meeting of departments and elected by the general meeting of the Academy. Academicians and corresponding members take part in the elections. Those who were voted for by at least two-thirds of the members of the Academy who participated in the voting are considered elected.

The department of synthesis of plastic arts and the section of aesthetics and cultural studies of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine should coordinate the processes of interaction in various directions of creative activity, theory and practice of the formation of modern culture.

As it is known, the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine is a self-governing scientific organization in the field of culture and arts based on state ownership.

The main directions of its activity are: conducting fundamental and applied scientific and theoretical research on the issues of artistic creativity, history and theory of world and Ukrainian art, art criticism and aesthetic education; determination of priority areas of scientific research, involvement of scientific and creative workers in the implementation of state and international programs for the further development of artistic culture; study and generalization of scientific and creative experience of national and world culture figures, popularization of scientific knowledge and creative achievements of national art at the world level.

Reference. Andriy Adamovskiy is a well-known philanthropist, collector of contemporary art, a citizen of Ukraine. Founder of Adamovskiy Foundation and chairman of the board of trustees of the M17 Contemporary Art Center and co-founder of the “Ukrainian Avant-Garde” Foundation, which owns one of the largest collections of Ukrainian and Russian art of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Andriy Adamovskiy's activities as a collector have different vectors and are constantly evolving, not disregarding the latest art trends. So, a collection of works by Ukrainian and Russian artists of the late XIX-XX centuries. in the Adamovskiy collection is considered one of the largest in Ukraine.

Andriy Adamovskiy’s collecting activity has various vectors and is constantly developing, not neglecting the newest artistic trends. Thus, the collection of works by Ukrainian and Russian artists of the late 19th and 20th centuries in the Adamovsky collection is considered one of the largest in Ukraine. There are works by Ivan Aivazovsky, Ilya Repin, Konstantin Makovsky, Nikolai Rerikh, Pyotr Konchalovsky, Aristarkh Lentulov, Vasily Kandinsky, Maria Sinyakova and many others. In addition, the Adamovskiy Foundation is a co-owner of the collection of avant-garde artists “Odessa Parisians”, which belonged to Yakov Peremen. The collection was purchased by the “Ukrainian Avant-Garde” Foundation in 2010.

The Foundation also owns a number of works by famous foreign authors, including, among others, the works of Pablo Picasso and Gerhard Richter. Adamovskiy Foundation also cooperates with contemporary Ukrainian artists. The Foundation’s collection already includes works by: Arsen Savadov, Oleksandr Roybud, Vasyl Tsagolov, Ilya Chychkan, Anatoly Kryvolap and others.

The Adamovskiy Foundation became one of the initiators of the research direction – M17 Sculpture Project, the purpose of which is to organize a platform for the development of domestic sculpture, the integration of innovative sculpture projects and three-dimensional art in the public space.

As part of the M17 Sculpture Project, the Foundation announced the M17 Sculpture Prize, a professional award for sculptors, as well as Sculpture Forum, an open-air sculpture forum.

Adamovskiy is also a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery” and the Odesa Art Museum.

In different years, Andriy Adamovskiy was the co-head of two of the largest Jewish non-governmental public organizations of Ukraine: the Association of Jewish Public Organizations and Communities of Ukraine and the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine.

Adamovskiy stands for the collective responsibility of Russians. When the Nazi Germans lost the war, the entire German nation knelt down and begged for forgiveness. The Russians also have to go through it.
