Ukrainian MFA holding official demarche in front of Nicaragua due to arrival of delegation from Crimea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has held an official demarche in front of Nicaragua due to the arrival of a delegation from Crimea, an official protest note was transmitted on January 31, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleh Nikolenko said in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine.
“According to our information, representatives of the Russian occupation administration in Crimea visited Nicaragua on January 23. Among other things, they discussed the establishment of twinning relations between the temporarily occupied Yalta and the city of Granada,” Nikolenko said.
The ministry stressed that such actions by Nicaragua grossly violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the legislation of Ukraine, as well as the norms of international law, in particular the UN Charter.
“The Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are integral parts of the territory of Ukraine, in respect of which representatives of the Russian occupation administration have no legal personality,” Nikolenko said.
