Syrsky meets with unit commanders in Lyman operational-tactical group's area – Military Media Center

Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, held a meeting with the commanders of units and subunits in the area of responsibility of the Liman operational-tactical group of troops and heard reports on the current situation, Military Media Center said.

"In order to study the situation and make operational decisions, I worked in military units that are conducting defense in the zone of responsibility of Lyman operational-tactical group. I met with the commanders of units and units, heard reports on the current situation. Decisions were made on the spot regarding further actions and a number of problematic issues have been resolved," Military Media Center said, citing Syrsky on the Telegram channel.

At the same time, the Commander of the AFU Ground Forces said in recent days the situation in Kupiansk and Lyman directions has worsened significantly.

"The enemy, after the losses inflicted on him, recovered within two months and started active offensive operations in Makiyivka area, and then in Kupiansk direction. Heavy fighting continues," Syrsky said.

He also said the key goal of the Russians is the defeat of the group, as well as the encirclement of Kupiansk in Kharkiv region and access to the Oskil River. Every day, the enemy conducts heavy fire from mortars and artillery at the positions of Ukrainian forces, and also carries out dozens of attacks by assault groups with the support of armored vehicles. However, the Ukrainian defenders are giving a worthy rebuff to the Russians, and they are suffering significant losses without achieving significant success.

Syrsky also held a meeting with servicemen who perform combat missions and thanked them for "courage, perseverance, heroism, and exemplary performance of their military duty."
