Defense Forces continue offensive in Melitopol, Bakhmut directions – AFU General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has reported 55 combat clashes at the front during the day of October 12, adding that the situation in the east and south of the country remains tough.

"The Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation on Melitopol axis and offensive (assault) operations on Bakhmut axis, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy all along the front line," it said on Facebook on Thursday.

In Kupyansk axis, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka and 8 attacks near Ivanivka, Kharkiv region.

In Lyman axis, the defense forces repelled four enemy attacks in the vicinity of Makiyivka, Luhansk region, and in the Serebrianske Forestry in Donetsk region.

In Avdiyivka axis, the Ukrainian defenders are bravely holding the line, repelled 7 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Avdiyivka and 7 more attacks near Lastochkyne, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske, Donetsk region.

In Maryinka axis, during the day of October 12, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled about 10 enemy attacks in the vicinities of Maryinka, Peremoha and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhia axis, adversary made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost position in the vicinity of Robotyne, Zaporizhia region.

During the day, the enemy inflicted two missile and 55 ai strikes, mounted more than 20 attacks using MLRS on the Ukrainian defense positions and settlements. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

Around 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery and mortar attacks.
