Sixth package of EU sanctions against Russia to be adopted - Polish President

The sixth package of EU sanctions against Russia should be adopted, Polish President Andrzej Duda said.

"How can the world peacefully help end the war? Only sanctions, only firm pressure, only isolating Russia, throwing it out of the international community, in an economic sense. This is also the issue of the sixth package of sanctions within the EU, which should be introduced. This is very important question. Here I appeal to those who still have doubts today: forget about business as usual," Duda said at a press conference following talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Sunday.

He said that it is necessary to reach a situation where "this war will completely cease to be beneficial for Russia and will be a threat to itself."

Duda also added that it is necessary to introduce politically prestigious sanctions against Russia, to exclude it from various kinds of state organizations, to exclude from international sports associations, prestigious world events.

"These should be coordinated actions," the head of state said.
