Russia turns UN Security Council veto into 'right to die' – Zelensky

Russia feels like a colonizer and turns the right of veto in the UN Security Council into the right to die, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video conference call at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Tuesday.
"The UN Charter has been violated from the first article, and if so, what is the point in the remaining articles? Today, as a result of Russia's actions on the territory of my country, the worst war crimes are being committed since the end of World War II," he said.
Zelensky also said that Russian troops are deliberately destroying cities, blockading them, provoking mass starvation. At the same time, according to him, "the massacres in Bucha are just one of many examples of what the occupiers are doing on our land."
"It is necessary once and for all to punish the one who considers himself privileged... The leadership of Russia feels like colonialists as in ancient times. They want our wealth and our people. Russia has already deported tens of thousands of our citizens to its territory. Russia wants to turn Ukrainians into silent slaves. The Russian military openly plunder our cities and villages, which they have captured. We are dealing with a state that turns the right of veto in the UN Security Council into the right to die, which undermines the entire architecture of global security," Zelensky said.
