Possibility of Russian forces attempting to storm Kyiv remains – Defense ministry

There remains a possibility that the enemy will attempt to storm the capital, Ukrainian Defense Ministry Spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianyk has said.

"Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and Mykolaiv are extremely important cities in the offensive operation by the Russian Federation. In almost all of these cities, the enemy has had no success and cannot take control of these cities. Therefore, the enemy resorts to terrorist acts and opens fire chaotically, without targeting these cities with artillery and rockets. I want to emphasize that there is still a possibility that the enemy will attempt to storm the capital," he said at a briefing at the Ukrainian media center in Kyiv on Thursday.

At the same time, he assured that the defense of Kyiv is a strategic task for the entire state, as the capital of Ukraine. According to Motuzianyk, the best units of the ground forces, air assault troops, special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are defending Kyiv.
