President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the shelling of Kharkiv by Russian troops is a war crime, which will be followed by an international tribunal.

"Russian forces today brutally shelled Kharkiv with rocket artillery. This is clearly a war crime. Peaceful city. Peaceful residential areas. No military facility. Dozens of eyewitness records prove that this was not a single false salvo, but a deliberate destruction of people. The Russians knew where they were shooting. There will definitely be a tribunal for this crime. An international one. This is a violation of all conventions," Zelensky said in a video message on Monday evening.

He added that the world community would not forgive Russia for the murder of Ukrainian civilians.

"Here is Ukraine. Here is Europe. Here is the year 2022. The evil armed with missiles, bombs and artillery must be stopped immediately. Destroyed economically. To show that humanity can defend itself. I believe that a complete closure of the sky for Russian missiles, aircraft, helicopters," the President of Ukraine said.
