Kyiv initiates formation of working group as part of TCG with reps of Ukrainian, Russian border, customs services, OSCE
The Ukrainian side at the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) to settle the conflict in Donbas during a video conference on Wednesday initiated creation within the TCG of a working group with the participation of representatives of Ukrainian and Russian border and customs services and mediators from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), to elaborate a mechanism for restoring Ukraine's control over its border in Donbas.
"Pursuant to the agreements reached at the December summit of the leaders of the Normandy Four in Paris, the Ukrainian party initiated the creation of a working group within the TCG with the participation of representatives of the border and customs services of Ukraine and Russia and the OSCE mediators to develop a mechanism for restoring Ukraine's control over the state border," the press service of the Ukrainian President's Office said in a statement on Wednesday.
The possibility of creating such groups is envisaged in Paragraph 13 of the Package of Measures for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, it said.
