Ukrainians living in ORDLO come to vote in presidential elections in Ukraine despite pressure of LPR/DPR – Ombudsman
Residents of the territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions that are not controlled by the government of Ukraine (ORDLO) take part in voting in the presidential elections in Ukraine despite pressure exerted on them by the so-called LPR/DPR, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights has said.
"People from the territories not controlled by the government of Ukraine are trying to use their constitutional right to elect the president of Ukraine, despite pressure put on them by the relevant structures of the so-called LPR/DPR," Oleh Trokhymenko, a representative of the Ukrainian ombudsman for protecting the rights of military personnel, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Sunday.
He also noted that, according to the results of monitoring, all five checkpoints (for entry and exit), which opened according to the schedule, are operating.
