Constitutional Court decides not to launch proceedings to rule if farmland sale moratorium suits Constitution

The Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine has decided not to launch constitutional proceedings under a petition of 69 members of parliament regarding the fact if the transitional provisions of the Land Code of Ukraine concerning the moratorium on the sale of farmland suit the Constitution of Ukraine.

According to a posting on the website of the court, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court at a hearing discussed the issue of launching constitutional proceedings under a petition of 69 lawmakers if the provisions of clauses 14 and 15 of Section X of the transitional provisions of the Land Code of Ukraine meet the Constitution of Ukraine.

"The Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court issued a ruling denying the launch of constitutional proceedings in the case," the court said.
