Russian occupation forces mount two attacks on Ukrainian army positions since start of 'school truce' in Donbas

Over the past day, the militants opened fire on the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces 32 times, including with the use of illegal heavy weapons, and twice shot at the Ukrainian military this night, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters has reported.

"The militants of illegal armed units fired guided missiles from infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, and in separate directions - from tanks, 122 mm barrels and 82 and 120 mm mortar shells ... No casualties among the Ukrainian troops have been reported over the past day," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in its update on Facebook on Wednesday.

Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire to attack the defenders of Krymske, Popasna, Troyitske, Novoluhanske, Mayorske, Pivdenne, Novhorodske, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Vodiane and Shyrokyne.

The invaders carried out nine attacks on the Ukrainian positions near Troyitske, Novoluhanske, Novhorodske, Novomykhailivka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, and Vodiane, using proscribed artillery systems and mortars. In addition, the Ukrainian positions near Lebedynske were attacked by main battle tanks.

Units of the Joint Forces fired back to suppress the enemy's fire activity amid escalation.

"Since Wednesday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted two attacks from heavy machine guns on the Ukrainian positions outside the villages of Hnutove and Talakivka," the report says.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, three militants of illegal armed formations were killed.
