NCER from Feb to slightly increase tariffs of regional electricity supply companies

The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) from February 1, 2018 will increase tariffs for distribution and supply of electricity for 34 electricity supply companies by 1-2% on average.

According to the decision made at a meeting of the commission on Wednesday, the key factors for revising the tariffs is growth of operating costs and the increase in salaries in the companies. The growth of average salary by 17% is taken into account in the new tariffs – from UAH 7,267 to UAH 8,503.

Growth in physical volumes in distribution of electricity by regional supply companies for first class consumers is expected to be 3.3% on average in 2018 (from 41.8 billion kWh to 43.2 billion kWh), and for second class consumers – by 0.6% (from 71.9 billion kWh to 72.3 billion kWh).

The decline in physical volumes in supply of electricity to first class consumers is expected to be 3.9% in 2018 (from 68.7 billion kWh to 66 billion kWh) and to second class consumers – by 1.7% (from 35 billion kWh to 34.4 billion kWh).
