Case on espionage by group of individuals, including Moldovan, Russian, sent to court

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) has approved the indictment in criminal proceedings against four people, including a Moldovan and a Russia, who are accused of espionage in Odesa region and in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO).

"The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has approved the indictment in criminal proceedings, which was investigated by the SBU's main investigation department, against an organized group of four people, including a Moldovan citizen... with the complicity of a citizen of the Russian Federation," the PGO's press service reported on Thursday, November 30.

According to the PGO, this group, with the complicity of a Russian citizen, carried out illegal activities in Odesa region and in the ATO zone, directed against the sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability, defense capacity and state security of Ukraine. They also committed treason in the form of espionage - transfer and collection of information representing state secrets in order to transfer it to representatives of foreign organization, and they also provided assistance to a foreign organization in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.

The court chose a measure of restraint for the defendants in the form of detention, and their property was seized.

With regard to the Russian, the issue of bringing him to criminal responsibility in the course of a special pre-trial investigation is being decided.
