Ukrainian army awaits Horlytsia tactical unmanned aerial system

National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has stressed the need to speed up the work on the program to create the Horlytsia multipurpose tactical unmanned aerial system developed by the Antonov State Enterprise (Kyiv) in cooperation with the defense industry in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and expects the project to be included in the state defense order for 2018.

He said during a demonstration flight of the unmanned aerial vehicle for the future multipurpose tactical unmanned aerial system at the aerodrome of the Antonov State Enterprise in Hostomel (Kyiv region) on November 8 that the Ukrainian army was waiting for this system.

"Today we made only the first step [under the program]," he said.

In this regard, Turchynov stressed the need to speed up the work on the project and ensure the state financing of the program as part of the state defense order.

"If this program is included in the state defense order for 2018, we expect that the Antonov State Enterprise will present the finished complex next year and we will be able to apply it," he said.
