Militants shell Ukrainian positions 15 times, one soldier wounded

Illegal armed groups operating in eastern Ukraine have violated the ceasefire 15 times over the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier wounded in the hostilities, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) headquarters has reported.

"The situation in the ATO area has not changed significantly at the end of the past day. Using the same tactics, the Russian occupation groups intensified the shelling of our positions after 18:00... ATO soldiers fired back during 12 attacks," reads a report posted on the Facebook page of the headquarters on Wednesday.

In the Donetsk sector, militants fired three times at the outskirts of Avdiyivka from various types of grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms. Ukrainian defenders toughly suppressed the activity of militants. One serviceman was wounded in the fighting at about 18:00. The soldier is now in a medical institution, and his condition is satisfactory. In addition, Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near Kamianka and Butivka coalmine came under grenade launcher fire at the end of the day.

In the Mariupol sector, militants also used grenade launchers near Maryinka, large-caliber machine guns near Shyrokyne, and IFV weapons near Hnutove.

In the Luhansk sector, militants fired twice from small arms near Krymske.
