Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov believes that the State Space Agency of Ukraine (SCAU) should become a powerful project institution, and not an intermediary between the state budget and branch enterprises.

According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, on Thursday Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and the NSDC Secretary presented the new head of the SCAU - Pavlo Dehtiarenko, who won the open competition.

According to Turchynov, special attention should be paid to solving the industry's problems, in particular, loss-making of enterprises, and introduction of mechanisms for attracting investments. And the first step in this direction may become the government's policy towards the creation of profile concerns and scientific and production associations.

"Oleksandr Turchynov said that today the role of the Space Agency should change, and the agency will be transformed from an intermediary between the state budget and branch enterprises into a powerful project institution," a message reads.
