U.S. interests include further support of Ukraine

U.S. National Security Adviser Herbert McMaster has said that it is in the interests of the U.S. to provide support to Ukraine to combat Russian aggression.
In an interview with the MSNBC on Saturday, McMaster said that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump considers various options for support and that the American side should do everything they can to prevent the conflict from growing.
He noted the danger of Russian aggression and that the leadership has an understanding of the nature of the Russian regime.
At the end of July, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported with reference to U.S. officials, that the U.S. State Department and Pentagon officials had developed a plan for the supply of defensive weapons to Ukraine. "The U.S. Pentagon and State Department have devised plans to supply Ukraine with antitank missiles and other weaponry and are seeking White House approval," the WSJ said.
According to it, among other things, it can be about the anti-tank missile systems Javelin and the means of air defense.
BBC earlier reported Special Representative of the U.S. Department of State for Ukraine Kurt Volker said that Washington is actively considering the issue of a possible defensive weapons supply to Ukraine. According to the report, Volker said defensive weapons could help Ukraine protect itself, drive tanks out of Donbas, would help stop Russia, which threatens Ukraine.
