Turchynov requests check of charges of 'Yanukovych team' against him about budget thefts

Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov has asked Ukraine's State Financial Monitoring Service and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) to check statements by wanted members of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych's allies, who have accused him of pilfering state budget funds.
"Starting in 2014, Russian special forces have systematically worked to discredit leaders of the Maidan and try to invent 'numerous scandals,' including those involving Oleksandr Turchynov, whom Russian politicians call one of the Kremlin's main enemies," says a NSDC press release published on Tuesday.
The press release recalls statements made by former first deputy head of Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office Renat Kuzmin and ex-MP Oleksandr Shepelev about Turchynov. Namely with respect to these statements Turchynov has asked the relevant state agencies to check their truthfulness.
