Yatsenyuk has no intention to head NBU

Former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the People's Front party Arseniy Yatsenyuk has stated he has no intention to become head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
"It is a very specific answer to your question: I'm not going to become head of the National Bank of Ukraine," he said on the air of the "Freedom of Speech" program on ICTV Channel.
Yatsenyuk is convinced that the NBU head must be completely apolitical figure and now it should be a professional economist and banker.
Yatsenyuk considers it necessary to extend the functions of the central bank, because now there two of them: the stability of the national currency and prices. According to him, the National Bank should also work on creating jobs like the U.S. Federal Reserve System, while the parliament must through changes to the constitution to endow it with this function.
Yatsenyuk said that the country now needs cheap and long-term loans.
In addition, he noted essential changes in the banking system: 80 banks have been liquidated, PrivatBank has been nationalized, and the state concentrated more than half of the country's banking system.
