Media reports: Poland supports abolition of visas for Ukrainians in EU

Poland supports the abolition of visas to the EU for citizens of Georgia and Ukraine and calls on other countries to support the liberalization of a visa regime, the Polish Radio has said with reference to Foreign Minister of Poland Witold Waszczykowski.

"We have been explaining and proving for an hour and a half that the ambition of the European community and our obligations are at stake. If we want to continue working together, if we want to form the eastern policy, we must fulfill our obligations," the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry said during a meeting of heads of EU diplomatic missions in Brussels.

It is noted that the European Commission long ago concluded the authorities in Kyiv and Tbilisi had fulfilled all the necessary requirements for visa liberalization, but there is no consensus on this issue among the EU countries.

As the paper says, according to informal information, among the EU countries, France and Germany show the greatest resistance to the abolition of visas for citizens of Ukraine and Georgia.
