Turchynov: 2016 defense budget must be implemented, defense sector must be well financed in 2017
The main factor that curbs Russia from a new wave of armed aggression are the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the task of authorities is to provide for well financing the defense sector and the country's security, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has said.
"The only thing that curbs a new wave of military aggression against our country is understanding inevitability of large losses from confronting our Armed Forces by Kremlin authorities," the press service of NSDC reported, citing Turchynov.
He said that Ukrainian Armed Forces, National Guard and other military units is the main factor of curbing Russia's aggression against Ukraine and the main argument for safeguarding peace and security in Europe.
"We must properly support and finance our Armed Forces. Despite resistance of many populists and traitors with lawmaker mandates we must provide for the implementation of this year defense budget and form the good budget for the defense and security sector for next year," he said.
