Yatseniuk asks competition agency to check price situation on food market

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has asked top managers of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to check the price situation on the food market.
"I will ask the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine after your request [lawmakers' request] that [we monitor] the price situation on the food market," he said speaking in the parliament on December 11.
He said that it is impossible to retain prices of food using administrative tools.
Yatseniuk said that when the deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA) between Ukraine and the EU competition on the domestic market would grow, while Ukrainian producers would have an opportunity to export to the EU.
"We see that the issue of price stability is one of the key issues for next year. Growth of prices kills economic growth, and we jointly with you will influence this, using economic methods," the premier said.
