Biden to visit Ukraine, meet with president, premier, activists, speak at Rada on Dec 7-8

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will hold negotiations with leading Ukrainian officials, meet with civil society activists, and speak at the Ukrainian parliament during a visit to Ukraine on December 7-8, a White House senior official said.
Biden's talks with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and a meeting with activists are scheduled for December 7, he said.
On December 8, Biden is set to meet with Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and speak at the Verkhovna Rada, he said.
While visiting Kyiv, Biden should reaffirm U.S. support for Ukraine amid the ongoing armed conflict in Donbas. He will also address the situation in Donbas and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
"Vice President aims to provide a strong signal of our support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's continued military intervention and support for separatism in the Donbas. The Vice President will also underscore that we categorically opposed and continue to oppose Russia's attempted annexation of Crimea," the official said.
In addition, the negotiations will concern an anticorruption reform in Ukraine, the White House spokesperson said.
