PrivatBank asks Interior Ministry, SBU to protect bank from info attack

Ukraine's largest PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk) has appealed to law enforcement agencies asking them to investigate an information attack on the bank, according to a press release.

"It is a planned information attack on the bank, the banking market, which should have created negative background information in a number of industrially developed regions of Ukraine. According to our data, the action was planned, negative information was launched specifically on multiple channels, the bank has already transferred all these facts to law enforcers," first deputy chairman of the bank Oleh Horokhovsky said in an interview with Vesti radio.

He noted that the negative information background has not significantly affected the operation of the bank: in the first ten days of November, PrivatBank retained positive dynamics of growth in its deposits at the level of UAH 70 million.

According to Horokhovsky, given the significant growth in the activity of depositors in October, PrivatBank will return a positive result for the current quarter.

As reported, previously Horokhovsky wrote on Facebook that the bank customers began to receive calls and SMS on the introduction of temporary administration in the bank.

Following this, he said that PrivatBank denies that it will undergo nationalization.
