Finance ministry denies Tymoshenko's accusations against government envoy for foreign debt management

The Finance Ministry of Ukraine has denied groundless accusations of Batkivschyna Party faction leader Yulia Tymoshenko against government-appointed envoy for foreign debt management Vitaliy Lisovenko that he is involved in the leakage of information on the country's state debt.

"Negotiations with the Ad Hoc Committee of Creditors were held in line with international transparency standards and under the supervision of the International Monetary Fund. Market players or any of the international regulators involved in the negotiations did not notice any abnormalities or changes on the market during the negotiations, which could happen during the sale and purchase of bonds on the basis of insider information," the ministry said.

The ministry reminded that the importance of the agreement reached was approved by the Constitution-provided majority of the Verkhovna Rada on September 17, when three relevant draft laws on restructuring were passed, and over 300 MPs, including Tymoshenko, supported the draft laws, as well as representatives of her faction.
