Russian troops can go on offensive at any moment, Ukraine should be ready to repel such attack
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov has said that Russian troops could still attack the country at any moment.
"We clearly understand that these are regular Armed Forces of Russia, which can go on the offensive at any moment," Turchynov said on the "Left Bank with Sonia Koshkina" talk show, adding that in such a situation Ukrainian troops should be ready to repel the attack.
Turchynov that the Russian leadership was currently preparing for the UN General Assembly, so it was making certain statements to keep up appearances.
"Now they are preparing to attempt to negotiate with the United States, in particular during a meeting in New York at the UN General Assembly. We do not expect any serious intensification of hostilities before this meeting," Turchynov said.
At the same time, the Ukrainian army should be ready to repel an attack at any moment, he added.
