Yatseniuk discusses energy, oil and gas issues with U.S. business representatives in Washington

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has had a number of meetings with U.S. business representatives as a part of his visit to Washington. The parties discussed the issues of nuclear energy, oil and gas industry and agrarian sector, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported on Monday.
During his meeting with management of Westinghouse company, the issues of realizing the contract on supplying new nuclear fuel were discussed. A new cooperation direction was discussed as well – enhancing the capacity of current nuclear energy blocks, participation in modernization programs and increasing security of Ukrainian NPPs. The issue of Westinghouse's using Ukrainian machine and instrument engineering market was also raised.
At the meeting with Frontera, American gas and oil company, the parties discussed the cooperation issues in gas and oil prospecting and production in Ukraine, as well as the realization of LNG import project via the capacity of American company in Georgia. The confirmed reserves of natural gas in Georgia amount to 300 billion cubic meters.
At the meeting with TrailStone, a leading international company, the parties discussed the prospects of gas trade in Ukraine, investments in gas and oil production , as well as assets management in Ukraine's energy sector. TrailStone representatives welcomed actions of Ukrainian authorities on liberalization of the internal gas market and announced the company's plans to enter Ukraine's gas market in autumn.
Yatseniuk and management of Cargill company discussed cooperation and investment projects that might be realized between Ukraine and the U.S. in the agroindustrial sector in prospect.
