Yatseniuk, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State discuss issues of Ukraine's security, economic cooperation between two countries

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken as a part of his working visit to Washington. The parties discussed a number of issues of Ukraine's security, its protection and relevant issues of financial partnership and cooperation in the energy sector, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported on Monday.

"The parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning first of all Ukraine's security, peace and protection, its territorial integrity and independence," reads the statement.

Relevant issues of financial cooperation, economic cooperation and partnership in the energy sector were also discussed at the meeting.

In addition, the parties discussed the current political situation in Ukraine, particularly the international efforts to support Ukraine.

"Arseniy Yatseniuk addressed the U.S. party to jointly enhance global actions to save Ukrainian citizens, who are illegally detained and have been turned into Kremlin's prisoners: Nadia Savchenko, Ihor Sentsov and many other countrymen," the press service reported.

Yatseniuk also noted that the Ukrainian government highly appreciated the efforts of the U.S. administration, parliament and senate supporting the Ukrainian people in the fight for a better future.
