Ukraine's NSDC decides to regroup Armed Forces amid new contact line – Turchynov

The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has discussed measures to regroup units of the country's Armed Forces to match the new line of contact in the south-east of Ukraine, NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has said.

"This decision addresses comprehensive measures aimed at enhancing the state's security, as well as the tasks facing the General Staff and the Defense Ministry to regroup and Armed Forces and other military units and bolster active defense bearing in mind the effectively new line of contact that exists today," Turchynov told a press briefing after the council's meeting on Wednesday evening.

The cabinet and the Security Service of Ukraine were instructed to draft a document on Ukraine's united system to prevent, respond to and suppress terrorist acts and minimize their consequences, he said.

"This system envisages three threat levels – blue for elevated, orange for high and red for critical. It also offers the criteria for their identification and assessment and outlines measures that will be taken by all bodies of the executive branch of power," Turchynov said.
