Three Ukrainian soldiers killed, 50 injured in east in past 24 hours - Kyiv official

Three Ukrainian servicemen have been killed and another 50 have been injured in the anti-terrorist operation area in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, operation spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a press briefing.

"Three of our soldiers have been killed and another 50 have been injured over the past 24 hours," he said.

In the past 24 hours, three Ukrainian soldiers have been freed from captivity, and Donbas militants have turned over the dead bodies of eight Ukrainian servicemen, Lysenko said.

Kyiv has information that the militants are currently holding more than 600 captives, Lysenko said, without specifying whether these people are Armed Forces personnel or civilians.
