Orders for Ukroboronprom next generation armored vehicles to be increased in 2015, says Poroshenko
Orders for next generation armored vehicles made by Ukroboronprom State Enterprise in 2015 will be increased, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has reported.
"Ukroboronprom has doubled its capacity for the production of next generation armored vehicles for 2015. First of all, this concerns the new APC-4, which we have substantially upgraded for combat use. Mass production of Dozor fighting vehicles and Oplot tanks is also being prepared," he said at an airfield at Chuhuyiv, Kharkiv region, on Saturday, December 6.
Poroshenko also stated that Ukraine is currently negotiating for the purchase of modern weapons abroad.
Later, speaking to journalists, he said that APC-3 and APC-4 were being upgraded, taking into account lessons learnt in battle.
He also said that wage arrears at defense and industrial enterprises had been settled in full.
