Ukrainian, Russian, OSCE, militants representatives to meet in Donetsk to discuss ceasefire
The heads of the Joint Center for Coordinating Ceasefire and Engagement Line Stabilization are expected to meet in Donetsk with representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and of individual districts of the Donetsk region to discuss a plan to implement the Minsk Memorandum.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday that the meeting would be attended by the Joint Center's chiefs of staff Col. Oleh Boiko (Ukraine) and Col. Alexei Matveyev (Russia).
According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the Joint Center's observation groups have registered 79 violations of the ceasefire with the use of multiple launch missile systems, mortars, artillery pieces and fire arms, including 63 violations registered in the daytime and 16 at night.
Armed formations in individual districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out 41 shelling attacks and the Ukrainian forces 38, it said.
The ministry also said that the staff of the Joint Center had been taking exhaustive measures to prevent skirmishes.
The most problematic areas in terms of ceasefire observance are Donetsk international airport and adjacent districts, and the towns of Schastia and Novobakhmutivka, it said.
