Three civilians killed, another four wounded in Donetsk - City Hall

Three civilians were killed and another four were wounded in Donetsk on October 8, Donetsk City Hall said in a report posted on its Web site.

"Last night was not quiet in the city. New shelling incidents were reported from the Kuibyshevsky and Kyivsky districts from 1930 on October 7 to 0220 on October 8. Shells razed a private house to the ground at 32 Yeremenko Street and a house at 41 Sadova Street. A residential building at 98 Krupska Street, and a residential building's balcony at 11 Batuscheva Street were destroyed. Three civilians were killed in the hostilities and another four suffered injuries of differing degrees in Donetsk on October 8," said the report posted on Wednesday.

It was quiet in the city districts as of 1000 and there were no reports of gunfire from residents.

Public utilities and transport are operating normally. Electricity and gas companies are carrying out repairs.

"Power supply to the northern water station was restored at 0630 on October 8," the City Council said.

As hostilities have subsided, Donetskmiskgaz company workers are restoring gas supply to the conflict-ridden districts.

Meanwhile, a source in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) interior ministry told Interfax that eight civilians had been injured in shelling of Donetsk residential areas by the Ukrainian Army over the past day.

"The Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky districts came under fire. Six men, a woman and a boy, born in 1999, suffered shrapnel wounds," he said.

He claimed there had been heavy bombardment of the Tochmash plant area and the shelling of Makiivka and Yasynuvata.

Information about the damage is being verified.
