Fighting near Donetsk airport continues – city council

As of 1300 p.m., the situation in Donetsk remained extremely tense, with hostilities continuing outside the local airport, the Donetsk city council said.
Within the city proper, efforts are underway to repair damaged gas pipelines and power grids. Specialists from Donetsk power companies have restored power supplies at four transformer substations providing service for consumers in the Voroshylovsky district. Also, emergency teams from power-supply companies have been repairing overhead lines in the Petrovsky District.
The repair effort in the Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky Districts is being hampered by continuous shelling.
The past few days saw the shelling of the water-supply systems in the Petrovsky, Kuibyshevsky and Pivnichny Districts, which nevertheless continue functioning and supplying water to local residents, according to Donetskmiskvodokanal.
After successful repairs were carried out at the Siversky Donets-Donbas Canal the amount of water supplied to Donetsk has increased by 20,000 cubic meters per day, which improved water supplies for the Kirovsky, Leninsky and Kuibyshevsky Districts.
"But the volumes of water supplies are still not enough. The water supply situation remains unstable in the Petrovsky District. There are no water supplies to villages I and II in Adminploschadka in the Kuibyshevsky District," the statement said.
