Authorities report overnight fighting in two Donetsk districts

Fighting took place in the Kuibyshevsky and Kyivsky districts of Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, last night, and residents in many parts of the city reported gunfire at around 0500, the city administration has said.

Five residential buildings and several segments of Donetsk's gas distribution network have been damaged as a result of strikes over the past 24 hours.

The situation is quiet in Donetsk on Friday morning. There have been no reports of gunfire in the city's districts.

Emergency services have already restored power supplies to residential buildings on Panfilov Street and Baku Commissars Square in the Kuibyshevsky district. Power supplies were also resumed to the Abakumov Mine and Lidiyivka Mine villages in the Kirovsky district. Twenty-six electrical substations are currently out of service in the city.

Gas mains are still being fixed in the Kuibyshevsky and Kyivsky districts of Donetsk. Four apartment buildings and 604 private houses remain without gas in these districts.
