Explosions heard in Donetsk at night, shells hit several buildings - city council

The night into Tuesday was tense in Donetsk, explosions and shells were heard by residents of city districts, the Donetsk City Council press office said.
According to the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, a private house and an outhouse at 30 Klimashkin Street, summer kitchen at 30 Luhovsky Street in the Petrovsky district and a shed at Lisova Poliana Street in the Kyivsky district were damaged by shells.
As a result of the artillery strike substation of the baked goods factory and 206 substations were cut off power.
"As of 0700 on August 12, 96 substations were connected to the network. At 0900 emergency crews started repairing the substation of the baked goods factory, so all 206 substations were cut off again," the city council said.
As of 0930 the situation in the city is still tense. Despite this, vital systems and public transport operate in orderly fashion. All buses, mini-buses, trams and trolleybuses proceed to the final destinations of their routes, the Donetsk City Council said.
