Three killed, five injured in overnight artillery strikes against Donetsk - authorities

The Budionivsky and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, came under artillery strikes last night, the city administration reported on its Web site on Thursday.
Three civilians were killed and another five were injured in the Budionivsky district as a result of the shelling. Eight privately owned houses, several sheds and one garage were destroyed.
Two houses were destroyed and a gas main was damaged in the village of Mandrykine, located near the Petrovsky district. The strikes did not lead to civilian casualties or injuries in the Petrovsky district.
The situation remains tense in Donetsk, where artillery fire, explosions and gunfire can be heard on Thursday morning.
At the same time, the city's infrastructure and public transport are operating as usual.
"The situation with food in the city is satisfactory. All groups of merchandise, including social commodities and necessary items, are on sale in the city's stores," the Donetsk administration said.
