Russia is continuing to mass troops on its southern and eastern border with Ukraine, as well as deploying mines in the Sea of Azov under the cover of missile boats, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has reported.

"About a hundred armored vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces arrived at the Russian Likhaya railway station in Rostov region, and the convoy headed to the settlement of Novoshakhtinsk in Rostov region," the head of the NSDC information center, Andriy Lysenko, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

Lysenko said that the buildup of Russian manpower and military hardware had been recorded near the village of Strilkove in Kherson region.

"In addition, Russian Armed Forces units started deploying mines in the Ukrainian section of the Sea of Azov around captured gas production facilities. The mine-laying work is covered by two Russian missile boats," he said.
