CEC declares Petro Poroshenko new president of Ukraine

Independent MP Petro Poroshenko at the early elections on May 25 was elected as president of Ukraine, the central Election Commission (CEC) reported on Monday.

A total of 54.7% or 9.857 million people who participated in the vote supported Poroshenko, reads a protocol from the CEC signed by all 15 members of the commission at its meeting on Monday.
