Maidan's self-defense promises to remove some tents, barricades on May 30

Maidan activists plan to remove some tents and barricades from Independence Square in central Kyiv on May 30.
They decided to do this before holding the Day of Kyiv. They plan to remove empty tents, garbage and part of the barricades that hinder the passage of residents and visitors, Maidan's self-defense representatives told Interfax-Ukraine.
At the same time, they plan to leave the stone barricade on Instytutska Street in place.
Earlier, a member of the Right Sector, Ihor Kryvoruchko, said that his party was going to remove barricades from Independence Square and unblock the road.
According to him, the Right Sector suggests transforming the square from a place of residence into a place of generating new ideas.
"Independence Square must generate new ideas and develop a sense of patriotism in Ukrainian citizens, promote moral values, healthy lifestyles and other positive values,'' the activist said.
So, all military tents will be removed, and a few modern tents will be installed in their place, in which journalists and other creative people - artists, writers, photographers, IT professionals etc can work.
