One killed, nine injured in fighting outside Karlivka, Donetsk region – Donetsk regional administration
One person was killed and nine injured in fighting near the village of Karlivka in Donetsk region, the press service of Donetsk Regional State Administration has reported.
"Today there was fighting between militants and the Donbas special battalion in Yasynuvatsky district [the village of Karlivka]. According to the preliminary reports from the health department of [Donetsk] regional state administration, one man was killed, and nine injured," reads the report on Friday.
It was earlier reported that some members of the Donbas volunteer battalion of the Donetsk region territorial defense, which was ambushed near the village of Karlivka, Donetsk region, were killed, some captured, and about 20 wounded.
"The Donbas battalion was ambushed near the village of Karlivka, Donetsk region, and had to fight back. They were fired at by submachine gunners, snipers and from light anti-tank grenade launchers… Some fighters of the Donbas battalion were captured, or killed. About twenty were wounded," the press center of the Donbas battalion reported.
At the moment, there is no communication with the fighters who remain surrounded in Karlivka, the press center of the battalion said.
The press center can neither confirm nor refute reports that Right Sector members arrived to help the Donbas fighters.
Meanwhile, the press service of the Right Sector says that four soldiers of the Donbas battalion were captured, or killed. About two thirds of the group (around twenty men) were wounded. There were no losses among the Right Sector fighters, but two soldiers received light injuries.
The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic said that as a result of the fighting near Karlivka two militants died.
