Ukraine presidential candidate accuses Turchynov of lack of action

1 min read

Ukrainian presidential candidate Valeriy Konovaliuk has filed a lawsuit with the Higher Administrative Court, accusing the country's acting president and parliament speaker, Oleksandr Turchynov, of lack of action.

"It [the attack on Kharkiv Mayor Hennadiy Kernes] was not only an attempted murder, but also evidence that Ukraine is slipping into chaos and mayhem. Police are demoralized not in Kharkiv alone. The law enforcement system is not fulfilling its duties today, and we cannot feel safe. We see armed people in the streets. And the most terrible thing is that the authorities are not doing anything," Konovaliuk said during the Shuster Live television program on Monday evening.

"Today I filed a lawsuit with the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine against Oleksandr Turchynov for his unlawful lack of action. They have assumed responsibilities, but they are unable to influence the situation in any way," he said.
