Two Russian journalists denied entry to Ukraine for three years for unauthorized filming of border - State Border Service
Ukrainian border guards have detained two Russian citizens – NTV channel journalists – on the border in Donetsk region for making an unauthorized video recording of a checkpoint, reads a statement posted on the Web site of the Ukrainian State Border Service on Friday.
Border guards noticed the men near the Uspenka checkpoint. They were traveling in a taxi and, stopping near the border, started filming the state border and tried to attract the attention of local residents by shouting. Noticing the border guards, they locked themselves in the car and only after clarification of the Ukrainian legislation provided their documents for a check. The car passengers were citizens of Russia.
"One of them was in a state of alcoholic intoxication and began to speak rudely to the border guards and citizens of Ukraine, while using obscene language. During further clarification of the purpose of stay in Ukraine, they found video recordings from a few checkpoints and sections of the state border, and after that the detainees admitted that they were journalists of the Russian NTV television channel," the press service reported.
According to the report, the detainees were fined and banned from entering Ukraine for a period of three years.
