Turchynov: Most people on Maidan were killed by police weapons

Most people on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kyiv were killed by weapons that were in the hands of the security forces, Parliament Speaker and interim President Oleksandr Turchynov said at the 21st meeting of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
According to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada, in response to the MEPs' proposal to help investigate the crimes committed on the Maidan, Turchynov noted that the Ukrainian side would be grateful for any assistance in this matter, "including for the participation of international experts."
"Our investigators want to know not only who the killers were, but also who gave the orders to kill," he said, adding that the order to kill civilians was the greatest crime committed by the previous authorities.
Turchynov said that the investigation was not as fast as one might think, "but the truth about the killers and [those who ordered the killings] will be made public."
"We must bring this investigation to an end, and the final will come when all the murderers and [those who gave the orders] are sitting in the dock," he said.
