Kyiv to suggest mechanisms to demilitarize Crimea to UN soon, says Foreign Ministry

Ukraine will soon send its proposals concerning mechanisms to demilitarize Crimea to the United Nations, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine said.

"Ukraine will soon send to the UN its proposals regarding the preparation of international mechanisms for the demilitarization of Crimea and for preventing the escalation of the conflict on the peninsula," director of the ministry's information policy department Yevhen Perebyinis said at a press briefing on Thursday.

According to him, Ukraine continues to take every possible step to protect the health and lives of the residents of Crimea, which is the government's main objective in this situation.
