Police deny 66 Euromaidan activists missing
The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has described as untrue the reports of Euromaidan activists allegedly missing since January 2014, the press service of the ministry's main office in Kyiv reported on Thursday.
Sixty-six citizens were reported missing on the Web site of Euromaidan SOS as of February 12.
The police noted that the authors had included in the list unverified data obtained from telephone communications of citizens who lost contact with relatives and groundlessly believe that they can be on the Maidan. In most cases, data on persons missing are limited only to the indication of the name and surname.
Kyiv police have currently received complaints about the disappearance of only three persons mentioned in the list, however, the applicants have not linked the disappearance of their relatives with Euromaidan.
Despite this, Kyiv police units are checking all reports on the Internet about missing persons, most of whom (43 people) were found by their relatives.
Law enforcers also said that some of the persons on the list were actually wanted by law enforcement agencies for committing a certain crime. Some of them are now in custody.
