A suspect in criminal proceedings into the fire o n the premises used by Kharkiv Jewelry Factory on the territory of JSC Hartron plant in Kharkiv has been put on a wanted list, spokeswoman for the prosecutor of Kharkiv region, Vita Dubovyk, has said.

She noted that they did not disclose personal information about the suspect in the interests of the investigation.

"I can only say that this is not CEO of Kharkiv Jewelry Factory Ihor Ostroumov," Dubovyk added.

As reported, eight people were killed, seven injured in a fire that broke out on January on the premises of Kharkiv Jewelry Factory on the territory of Hartron plant in Kharkiv. Twenty-two people were rescued. The cause of the fire and the damage are being established.

Criminal proceedings were launched under Part 2 of Article 270 of the Criminal Code (the violation of fire safety regulations that caused deaths).

Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office reported that the investigation follows two lines of inquiry – the violation of fire safety regulations and the violation of industrial safety rules.
