Tymoshenko sees Yanukovych's arguments to thwart EU association deal as far-fetched

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych used far-fetched arguments to disrupt the signing of an association agreement with the EU at the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.

"He used artificial arguments for thwarting the signing of the agreement, such as the impossibility of overcoming Russia's pressure and economic losses from association with Europe," Tymoshenko's daughter Yevhenia quoted her mother as saying in an address to European leaders, following their meeting at Kharkiv's Central Clinical Hospital No. 5.

Tymoshenko stressed the importance of signing an association agreement for Ukraine.
