Yatseniuk wants to see president's response to heinous rape case in Mykolaiv region
The head of the Batkivschyna parliamentary faction, Arseniy Yatseniuk, has said he wanted to hear Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's assessment of work of the country's Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko in the context of the events surrounding a rape case involving two law enforcement officers in the village of Vradiivka (Mykolaiv region).
"I am waiting for Viktor Yanukovych's response. Not the minister's or the prime minister's, but personally the president's [response] to the situation in Ukraine. This is his fault and his personal responsibility and I regret that the president did not dare to come and speak to the parliament of Ukraine in person on Friday," Yatseniuk told journalists on Tuesday while commenting on the interior minister's recent statement on the case.
"Such a minister and such a president have no right to hold their positions," the politician said.
